15 month portraits

Henry lately

I realize I'm pretty behind on some Henry updates, we had his 15 month checkup last week. He definitely had quite a growth spurt since his 12 month appointment! He went from 19lbs to 23 and 11oz (5% to 50% in weight!) and from 29 1/4 to 31 1/2 inches (also up to 50%) and his head is still in the 90% at 19 1/4. Here he is during his appt.

He started taking steps a couple of weeks ago but still isn't walking on his own without a hand or piece of furniture. He loves standing up on his own and clapping for himself so he's making progress:)
The doctor noticed his molars were really swollen and are probably coming soon which explains why he's been a little extra clingy and fussy lately. He's also getting so physical, into climbing everything, flopping all over the place, bonking his head on all sorts of things and hitting me in the face a couple of times (ugh). Good thing he is so cute!

I know I should cut his hair but I love his crazy bed head!

jokes

It's been so fun seeing Henry's sense of humor come to life. He has a small repertoire of jokes so far but he's really into them! A few highlights include:

  • any kind of hiding, especially standing behind me when I'm sitting on the floor so I have *no idea* where he is until he slowly creeps around my side
  • playing or eating like normal and then he gives me a really intense stare where his head is tilted down and then we bump foreheads (no idea where this came from but he loves it)
  • and finally, the where's my hand joke

reading perch

Now that he is full-fledged climbing, one of Henry's favorite things is to climb up on the ottoman or chair in his room and flip through books. His taste is very specific, he knows exactly which one he wants to read and will swat away all the others! The Pantone colors book and the big Richard Scarry book are his faves so far.
