saying goodbye

This post is a change of pace but it has been a rough week around here.
I got some heartbreaking news that one of my former students had passed away and the daughter of a woman in a mom's group I'm a part of also passed away. Both of these deaths were untimely and tragic. I'm sending a donation to this organization in honor of my student:

Hope for the Day
Hope For The Day is a nonprofit movement committed to utilizing music and the arts as a defense mechanism to suicide. Our alternative approach strives to offer education, prevention and hope through creative expression.

And there is a 5k run/walk this summer which raises funds to advance research and support services at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago for kids with brain tumors, here is a link to the team put together by women from the mom's group in honor of Meera, if you are able to donate.

We just had Henry's 18 month appt this week. I can't believe he's a year and a half! Seems weird that his next appt is his 2 year check up. Everything is looking good, he weighs 26.1 lbs and is 32.5 inches long. He is soooo busy these days and loves going to the park, dancing, playing on our balcony, exploring new spaces, being chased, reading books, knocking on doors, playing on our bed, dogs and cats, climbing, hugging and kissing (the best!).

giving these baby flowers a kiss on our walk, this guy loves to kiss and hug pretty much everything:)

don't worry, he doesn't sleep with all of these animals, after he woke up he requested they all join him in the crib

April

Now that the weather is finally starting to get better, and Henry is down to one nap, we've been trying to get out of the house as much as possible. Here are some end of April highlights.

The zoo! We've been 3 times in the past month or two, so we got a membership.

Unimpressed with the flamingos

First Easter basket

We went for a walk on the lake on Easter, it was glorious!

Getting some rays on our balcony

very unhappy because I wouldn't let him go outside with no pants (it was 45 degrees out)
